About Murielle

Murielle Carrasco has been in the health and fitness industry since 1992. She was the Workout Coordinator at the Queen Mother Sports Centre in Victoria for 3 years (1996-1999), supervising a team of 25 instructors and running a program of 50 classes. One of the first Body Control Pilates® teacher, she introduced Pilates to a wide range of fitness centers, Metropolitan Clubs, Holmes Place, Canons, and The Fitness Exchange. In 1999, she also started remedial Pilates at the White Hart Lane Therapy Centre and has been teaching in Barnes ever since, opening The Garage Studio in November 2003. Murielle is a qualified Back 4 Good® practitioner, the latest training program for prevention and management of lower back pain and the highest level of training (level 4) there is in the Pilates and fitness industry. Murielle has also been teaching yoga since 1997 and qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2006.

Improve balance

This is a simple trick to improve your balance.

Place a toe separators between your toes and keep it there for 5 minutes while you are watching TV or reading. Avoid walking with themtoe seperator on!

Relaxation

Best way to relax your back at the end of the day!
This position will decompress your spine, relax your back and neck muscles, open your shoulders and improve circulation to your brain. This is much needed at the end of the day!

You might need a cushion underneath your head to keep your head in line with the spine.

Let go of your body. Let the floor carry you. Clear your mind, don’t dwell on your thoughts and ignore external noises. Enjoy this peaceful moment.
Stay five minutes or more. To come out of the position safely, hug your knees to your chest and roll on to your side.Relaxation
